100th Anniversary of Algona Knights of Columbus Council # 952    

February 19, 2005

On Saturday Feb. 19, 2005 we had a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of our council in conjunction with a 4th Degree Exemplification class of 37 Brother Knights.

The banquet and dance were attended by some 225 Brother Knights and their wives.

We were very fortunate to have so many dignitaries on hand. These included:

Assistant to the Master         Wayne Andrews (Class Honoree)

Board of Directors               David Bellendier

State Deputy                        James Chambers

State Secretary                     Michael Gaspers

State Warden                       Patrick O'Keefe

We were also honored by the presence of our local priests:

Fr. Eisele, Fr. Schoon, Fr. Freidman, Fr. Degen, and Fr. Gunther  All 4th degree

There were many District Deputies from the area, along with many Faithful Navigators, Grand Knights, and many state officials.

Sir Knight Grand Knight David Golwitzer accepted a certificate of congratulations from State Deputy James Chambers to Council #952 for '100 years of dedicated service to the church and community.'

Sir Knight Dennis McGuire accepted an Award of Merit from State Master Henry Fullick for his involvement and dedication of fostering the Spirit of Patriotism in the Fourth Degree.
